Jeremy Simon

Lead Vocals/Guitar

Jeremy has been singing and playing guitar for about 10 years but didn’t really start taking it seriously until a few years ago. He lists Jimmy page as why he picked up a guitar but also cites Metallica, Five Finger Death Punch, Bullet For My Valentine and many more as to why he wanted to be part of a band.

Jeremy's favorite genres of music include rock, hard rock, metal, and country, but given an opportunity to play with any artist alive or dead, Jeremy would love to jam with Mick Thompson of Slipknot.

"Jer-Bear" is a bit of an animal lover and has 2 dogs, a white brindle pit bull and a white Maltese poodle. His first car was a 1998 Ford Contour. He enjoys Off-Roading, video games, watching movies, and art when he's not shredding on his guitar. "I love art. Paintings and stuff like that."

When asked about his favorite post-jam snack, "Anything gummy and sour!" So keep that in mind if you catch him after a show!!

Jeremy's advice, "If you have the chance to learn an instrument or how to sing, do it, don’t think about it just do it and you’ll never regret it." And we all agree!

Joshua Davis

Josh started out playing music with piano and then quickly moved on to the violin the next year. “I definitely learned a lot about musical composition and how to read sheet music.” Then, at the age of 8 or 9, saw an Iron Maiden video for the first time and immediately wanted to play guitar. “I Began sitting in my room and learning scales, I began playing bass in a band at 11 out of necessity. Everyone wanted to be a guitarist and my dad had an old P bass so I started playing bass. I was hooked!”

Josh cites Steve Harris (Iron Maiden), Rex Brown (Pantera), Justin Chancellor (Tool), and Ryan Martinie (Mudvayne) as some of his biggest musical influences. If given an opportunity to jam with any musician alive or dead, Josh said "Definitely would be “Dimebag” Darrel (RIP). I remember hearing “Vulgar Display of Power” and being blown away! I’ve loved Pantera ever since! I think I was like 9." Josh loves all music from classical to modern music. "If it has a beat and instruments, I listen. All music has a place and it’s great to see how others write or play. It’s awesome!"

Outside of music, Josh loves the outdoors… "fishing, camping, hiking. Just love being outside." where you might catch him snacking on his favorite food. "Corn nuts, man! They are like the best food ever!!"

Josh had this to say about joining Athens to Ashes. "I look forward to meeting all the fans and having a great time performing for them!"

Steve Cox

Steve has been playing drums for more than 30 years. The self-appointed “Old Guy/Band Dad” started showing signs of musical inclination as early as 5 years old, banging on pots and pans, lids, whatever he could get his hands on. In terms of drumming influences, Steve cites Tommy Lee of Motley Crue as being the definitive influence that lead him to wanting to be a drummer. Other influences to his playing include, Lars Ulrich of Metallica, Louis Bellson (Jazz Legend), Carter Beauford (Dave Mathews Band), Chad Smith (RHCP), Morgan Rose (Sevendust), Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater/Avenged Sevenfold) Vinnie Paul (Pantera) and many others!!

Steve enjoys playing just about anything. He’s played everything from latin to funk, hip-hop to country, jazz to metal. His approach has always been to try to listen to as many different styles of music as possible in order to learn new patterns to apply to the music.

Steve's first car was a 1978 Plymouth Volare, 4 door sedan. "Car was a 318 v8 with a 2 bbl carb. Made just enough power to peel out and impress people who didn’t know better. First vehicle I purchased on my own was a lowered ‘92 Chevy C1500 with a bunch of bolt-on performance mods. Loved that truck!"

He loves to draw and is a huge comic book nerd. "I’m a pretty big baseball fan, and love football as well, so watching games on tv or live is always something I enjoy. I like cooking, and oddly enough, I’m really into crafts. I’m a creator at heart, so anything I can make, I’m into."
